The walking
- Our selected walks take us through wooded areas where carob and olive are cultivated on farms and small holdings, along with oranges and other citrus fruit, pomegranates, almonds and an abundance of other produce.
- We will stand on the top off hill sides with 360º views and the entire coast of the Algarve stretched miles below us. We will visit local villages where working life continues as it was for centuries.
- The characteristic vegetation of the hills includes the Cork oak (Quercus suber) and Strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo).
- Experience beautiful landscapes and traditional ways of living in the Algarve interior.
The Sightseeing
- The villages and natural reserves along the GR13 are an essential part of its character and time will be spent to appreciate them.
- The walking and sightseeing are integral with each other. However because we have dedicated transport with the group there will be considerable flexibility within the tour for individual clients.
- We use various centres along the route. This minimizes the upheaval of continually packing and unpacking allowing more time to enjoy the tour. The centres give good and easy access to the relevant sections of the via Algarviana (GR13) and by using varied routes and allowing time the travel becomes part of the tour.
- You will travel in modern; air conditioned cars or mini-coaches normally fitted with reclining seats, and safety belts.
