The property has excellent access from Porto airport (Ryanair, TAP and others) – around 1 hour away.

It is also around 1 hour to the wonderful northern Atlantic beaches. It is sited midway between the little towns of Cabeceiras de Basto and Arco de Baulhe (5 minutes by car), where you can find a full range of shops and services and also a local market on Mondays. 

It is in between, and quite near, two national Parks: the Peneda-Gerês, and the Alvão and Marão mountain ranges.

The Douro Valley of Port wine fame is also around 1 hour away.  Some of the most historic and ancient towns in Portugal are within easy reach (Guimarães, Braga, Porto, Vila Real..), however, the local countryside is also spectacular and well worth exploring.
